FAQ

THE MOST COMMON QUESTIONS

Can I wear beadwork even if I am not Indigenous?

Yes, absolutely you can wear beadwork even if you are not Indigenous! My beadwork is made for everyone to enjoy regardless of gender/ race/ ethnicity. Please read the earring care guidelines (found in Shipping & Return Policies tab) in regards to not using substances when wearing beadwork that contain traditional medicines. Make sure to purchase from an authentic Indigenous artist and take care of your beaded items. When I see a non-Indigenous person wearing authentic indigenous beadwork, it warms my heart showing that they support Indigenous people.

I love to see people supporting our cultural heritage and wearing beadwork can help to raise awareness for important issues such as MMIWG and Every Child Matters. If you are looking for beadwork specifically for awareness check the labels 'MMIWG' (or look for red beadwork) and 'Every Child Matters' (or look for orange beadwork).

How do I take care of my  Beadword/ Artwork?

My beadwork should always be treated with the utmost respect. Beadwork that contains traditional medicines should NEVER be worn when drinking/ using drugs or while under the influence of alcohol or any other substances. If you purchase my beadwork you must respect and follow this traditional protocol.

To protect the integrity of the beadwork/artwork, please refrain from getting it wet! Do not wear earrings/ beadwork while showering, washing your face, outside during heavy rain or snowfall or anywhere where they may get wet. Water may cause damage to the artwork as well as to the integrity of the thread, glue, traditional medicines or animal products included in the piece.

A handling fee is charged to help cover expenses related to processing and preparing an order for shipment including; packaging supplies (boxes, tape, tissue paper, bags, printer for labels, ink, bubble wrap, etc.), storage of inventory, labor costs for fulfilment, delivery of items to postal office for shipping etc.
